The Centre's Philosophy

The International House of Reiki has developed into a centre with a very specific philosophy. This is due to the personal experiences of the founders, Frans and Bronwen Stiene.

Below are some of the fundamental ideals that are the backbone of the centre’s philosophy and support the way it functions.

• To promote a greater understanding of the system of Reiki for those new to the system and to provide a resource for those already practising it.

• To encourage people to improve their quality of life by taking their health into their own hands.

• To attempt to teach the most up to date information about the system of Reiki and to be as true as possible to the original teachings of Usui Mikao.

• To provide quality personalised, professional courses which are tailor-made for individuals thus producing students who can work on themselves and others with confidence.

• To teach and treat others ethically and with compassion.

• To work within the codes of practice and ethics of Australia's leading Reiki Association, the Australian Reiki Connection. Teachers of the International House of Reiki are Referred Practitioners of the Australian Reiki Connection Inc. This association cultivates the non-judgment of everything and every one within the system of Reiki.

• To promote the value of volunteer work within the community using Reiki skills. The International House of Reiki supports numerous volunteer groups and regularly attends, with its students, volunteer days at Yoga in Daily Life (to raise money for a school in India) and Samadhi Yoga (to raise money for children in Africa).
