Reiki - a system created in Japan in the early 1900s to support you on a journey of self discovery.
The International House of Reiki invites you to join a unique style of Reiki course in Australia called Usui Reiki Ryoho. Frans and Bronwen Stiene, the founders of the centre, were the first teachers of this traditional Japanese form of Reiki in Australia and have been educating people about it ever since.
If your interest is in getting back to what was taught in Japan before it hit the West in 1938 and became associated with the new age movement in the 1980s - then this is the course for you!
(ps. Please check out the Reiki History section of this website if that subject interests you or read one of these books.)
Usui Reiki Ryoho courses are for beginners or can be picked up at what ever level Reiki you are already practising at present. There is Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) for all students wishing to join International House of Reiki courses though in some cases it may be appropriate for students to repeat a certain level (depending on their prior studies). To complete a Shinpiden Level III course students must have studied Okuden Level II with the International House of Reiki or already be Reiki Masters from another lineage (RPL will be once again taken into consideration).
Video - Different Reiki Teachings
The difference between the Usui Reiki Ryoho courses and regular Western Reiki courses is that the initiation process, course information and techniques taught stem directly from Japan rather than via the West. The teachings also have a different focus than Western forms of the system of Reiki. The focus is on personal development and spirituality. The International House of Reiki's aim is to connect all practitioners with Reiki's true spiritual depth.
All students are asked to continue practising after the courses finishes. The reason for this is that each course traditionally is considered to be an introduction to that level - consequently a supremely high level of ongoing support is offered to all students of the International House of Reiki.
Discounts are also available for health care card hold holders and full time students. Rebates are also available for members of some Health Funds - find out if that's you. Payment plans can also be arranged if you're running a bit short.
Frans and Bronwen Stiene are also available as speakers about the system of Reiki and teach Reiki Courses around the world.
