Frans and Bronwen Stiene interview Beth Goldring, Buddhist nun and Reiki practitioner who, although born in America, has been working with AIDS patients in Cambodia for the last 10 years.
Beth has set up Brahmavihara (Cambodia AIDS Project) which offers chaplaincy and socialwork services for poor AIDS patients and focuses on healing with Reiki. She has nine staff who are all Reiki practitioners. They go to various hospitals and hospices in and around Cambodia's capital Phnom Penh.
Beth talks about:
The various cultural considerations you need to take
into account when working in different countries.
How Reiki has benefitted AIDS patients and their
families.
How she feels Reiki works.
The length of time for treatments.
Working with people who are dying.
The current AIDS situation in Cambodia.
And a little about the local Khmer traditional healers.
