If you wish to start your own business in a complementary therapy (or you've already got one started) then we'd like to tell you about some of the things we've found extremely useful in streamlining our lives and often helping others at the same time using technology.
Many people who work in complementary therapies become heavily involved in the all consuming concept of helping others. This is obviously fabulous but there can be drawbacks. It is very hard to keep on helping others if you haven’t got a steady income coming in, a roof over your head, a place to help others in and food in your tummy. Somehow we all have to find a balance between helping others and helping ourselves. Just how do you do it?
With the computer age, sometimes life feels so much more difficult than it used to - having to constantly deal with new and changing technology. Obviously it also has its advantages - we are all able to access many more people than ever before and this must be good for both helping others and our business. The world really has become a global village. Below are some hints for dealing with the world using new technology.
We hope to develop this page as we discover more fun technology on our journey. Anything that will give us a few more moments in the day to do what we’d rather be doing it.
Be Alert Listen to what others have to say about their individual successes. What worked for them? For example there a number of simple computer programs that can filter your email so you don’t keep receiving junk mail and orders from Nigeria. Who would have thought 10 years ago that we’d be spending half an hour a day sorting out our email junk files? This is our favourite junk mail hi-jacker – its called Mail Washer Pro. A smallish box opens on your screen and all incoming emails come into it before they go to your email program. You can delete them, blacklist and bounce them. Blacklisting means you never have to see that sender’s emails again and bouncing makes the sender think you don’t exist – perfect for junk mail senders that are programmed to stop sending after so many bounced emails. Once you’ve looked at the emails (you only see the subject and a couple of lines for each) you press a button and all the lovely welcoming emails come flying into your inbox and all those you no longer want dissappear. Ahh no viruses, no junk.
Try things out – it doesn’t have to cost Risk is important in business. Have a go. Look up a program you may have heard about on a search engine. It will have a free trial period. Try it and see if it works for you. If not – uninstall! Talk about free things. Here’s another favourite that can actually save you a lot of money. It’s called SKYPE. It has millions of users around the world and I don’t understand its technology (its p2p) but I do know that I can talk through the computer using a digital headphone (not expensive) for free to any other computer in the world. Now since we’re all actually sitting on the darned things, day-in and day-out this is a great way to chat to overseas relatives or even friends in the next state – if not your own neighbour. You will have to make sure that your friend has downloaded the free program too though. But this program is spreading around the world like wildfire. It also has a paid section where you can call through your computer to a any phone in the 25 major countries in the world (USA, UK, Europe, Australia and much more) for .03 cents a minute AU. This is a lot cheaper than the Australian telephone carriers we know and the sound is better – it’s crystal clear. It also has conferencing abilities and much more. Wow – isn’t life getting fun and easy.
Create a Website Integral in today’s society. The web is the way to go. It too doesn’t have to cost a fortune but a couple of hints: get one that you can add and delete pages and text in. There’s no point in having a fabulous site that you have to pay someone to change every time you run a new course. This will end up being an expensive project. Here 's an idea too: Affordable and Powerful. Click Here to try the World's Smartest Shopping Cart system.

Add to your Income in Unique Ways Have you heard about affiliate programs? This is where you earn money for putting people you know onto a service or product. What we love about this is that there are some amazing projects out there aiming at spiritualizing our world - getting us connected AND we can earn money by letting people know about them - no strings attached. Whoever thought this up was a genius. So we have signed ourselves up for a couple of programs. In fact we have created an affiliate program for our own Online Programs. You can sign up here!
Another that you might be interested in becoming an affiliate for is the wonderful spiritual cinema. A beautiful idea for those of us who don't want to seee rape and pillage everytime we watch a dvd - and they send your monthly dvds all around the world. Another that we think is excellent is the computer game Wild Divine. It teaches meditation practices with amazing graphices. Be taken to Eden and live there for a while. Fabulous game for your kids to play too. You can help make the world a more peaceful loving place by supporting these projects.
Help Others in Unique Ways This internet concept has been around for a number of years. When you click on a link on this site - The Rainforest Site - you get shown a page of advertsiers. By doing this you are donating funds to a project to save rainforests around the world and it costs you nothing. The site even tells you how much your one click saves of a rainforest and many other interesting facts. This site also links through to similar sites where one click can donate to a literacy project, child welfare, animal rescue and more.
