Podcasting is a way of listening to sound files of interviews, articles or music on your computer or transfer them to your ipod. The files are commonly MP3 files.
How Does Podcasting Work? Downloading these soundfiles enables you to download the latest instalment of interviews, articles or music to your own computer. You then play it directly from the computer or download it again to a portable player such as an iPod.
The International House of Reiki offers you three choices on how to listen to The Reiki Show Podcast and Reiki Articles Podcast.
1. LISTEN NOW To begin, stop or pause this podcast click at the left of the music bar. If you wish to increase or decrease the sound you can do so to the right of the music bar. You cannot fastforward or rewind. Enjoy! If the podcast stops then the podcast has not completely downloaded - please wait try again. Be aware that if you click off this webpage your podcast will stop - so if you wish to continue surfing the internet open a new web page.
2. SAVE - Dowloading an MP3 File to Your Computer You can simply download the MP3s to your computer to listen now or later on your computer or iPod. Best choice for NON-BROADBAND users.
To download an MP3 on a PC: Right click the 'Download an MP3 of this Show' link, and 'Save Target As' and save in a convenient file.
To download an MP3 on a Mac: Hold down the Control button and click on 'Download an MP3 of this Show' link, and save in a convenient file.
As MP3 files may be large the download time might take a while. Be prepared to allow the file time to download. We have tried to not allow our interviews and articles to be longer than 30 minutes in length to keep the size of the MP3s down.
3. SUBSCRIBE We highly recommend this method! You can click the orange RSS buttons and subscribe to the most recent interviews on The Reiki Show or listen to the most recent Reiki Articles. Just copy the URL that comes up when you click the orange button and paste it into podcasting software (sometimes called an aggregator). This software on your computer will automatically download the interviews and articles as they become available in the future. This is called a RSS (Really Simple Sindication) feed.
There are many software programs available that you can download to catch the RSS feed and many are free. A popular choice is iTunes if you have it already or the free Juice
Enter the url of the podcast in the window that opens
Click the OK button.
In itunes under the heading 'advanced' along the top it says 'subscribe to podcast'. Click on that and a box will come up for you to add the url into: http://www.reiki.net.au/Podcast/The_Reiki_Show.xml. You are now subscribed!
Once you have subscribed, each show will be automatically downloaded to your iTunes Library. If you also use an iPod you synchronize your iPod to your iTunes Library, and the shows will be transferred.
Note: Podcasting is not supported in versions of iTunes below 4.9, if you do not have version 4.9 or upgrade.

Select Menu > Tools > add a feed
Enter the url of the podcast in the window that opens
Click the save button
In Juice click on the green plus button that says 'add new feed' and a box will pop up that you paste this url into:http://www.reiki.net.au/Podcast/The_Reiki_Show.xml. To update the podcasts each week just go intoJjuice and click on the yellow square which says 'catch up ' and it will download the latest podcast.
