Zaike (lit. Japanese) lay priest. This priest has his own home and is not expected to reside in a monastery. Mikao Usui is said to have been a Tendai zaike.
Zazen Shikan Taza A Tendai meditation practice that was supposedly practiced by Usui on kurama yama.
Zenki (lit. Japanese). Used in conjunction with Okuden.
Zenshin Koketsu ho (lit. Japanese) whole body blood exchange. Also called ketsueki kokan ho. Hawayo Takata taught this as the finishing treatment or nerve stroke in her level 2 classes. Here we can see that she knew some of the more traditional Japanese techniques.
Zeigler, Patrick Founder of Seichim. Patrick Zeigler became initiated to an energy in a pyramid in Egypt. He was also influenced by Sufi teachings and eventually the system of Reiki.
Zonar Symbol A non-traditional symbol used in Karuna Reiki, Tera Mai, and Karuna Ki. It is said to heal past life issues, child abuse and connect to Archangel Gabriel. This was the first symbol channelled by Kathleen Milner and Marcy Miller.
